Noise Measurement on Resistors and Semiconductors
Supervisor: Dr. Jürgen Vogt
The experiment deals with theoretical basics of noise and the noise measurement on resistors and semiconductors. The noise power of the output of an electrical circuit, a resistor, and a semiconductor are measured with help of the noise analysis.
The following exercises are to be solved:
- Measurement of the frequency response function and determination ofan equivalent noise bandwidth of an amplifier
- Determination of the effective noise voltage on the amplifier input for an open amplifier input and an amplifier input driven in short-circuit
- Calculation of the equivalent noise resistor and of the input resistance of the amplifier
- Determination of Boltzmann’s constant
- Noise as absolute thermometer
