Franck-Hertz Experiment

The experiment separates into three parts: besides a Franck-Hertz tube filled with mercury one uses a sending tetrode filled with mercury for the measurements. The emission spectrum of a mercury lamp is measured additionally with help of an optical arrangement.
The following exercises are to be solved:
- Determination of the contact potential
- Measurement of the ionisation voltage
- Velocity distribution of electrons
- Determination of the excited levels
- Comparison of the results with the emission spectrum and the term scheme of mercury
