Under the project code M.FE.A.MATN0003, the Max-Planck Society supports the collaboration between the Max-Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MPI-MiS, through Felix Otto), the Institute of Mathematics (MI) of the University of Leipzig (Max v. Renesse), and the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP, through Stefan Hollands).
Since its founding in 1996 by Eberhard Zeidler, the MPI-MiS keeps close connections to the MI and the ITP at the University of Leipzig. To further strengthen the collaboration, the Max-Planck Society provides funding for three postdoc positions in areas of common interest, namely Stochastic Partial Differential Equations and stochastic homogenization, applied to physical problems ranging from General Relativity over Quantum Field Theory to Non-equilibrium dynamics in many-body quantum systems.
