Mid-Infrared Photothermal Quantitative Phase Imaging (MIP-QPI)

Mid-infrared photothermal microscopy is an emerging vibrational imaging modality that merges the high sensitivity of mid-infrared absorption with the high spatial resolution of visible imaging. We have developed wide-field mid-infrared photothermal microscopes utilizing quantitative phase imaging techniques. Our system offers video-rate imaging speed when equipped with optimal lasers and an image sensor. Additionally, we have demonstrated a system capable of achieving high spatial resolution down to 125 nm, thus paving the way for mid-infrared nanoscopy.
