heliCam C4: Principles and Applications of a Fast and Efficient Lock-in Demodulation Camera

Lock-in demodulation is a well-known method for the recovery of small optical signals otherwise hidden in significant background offset and noise, as often encountered in a variety of applications, including 3D (interferometric) imaging, spectroscopy, magnetometry, imaging in scattering media. This presentation will introduce the heliCam C4 camera, specially designed to optimize lock-in imaging, and will describe the operating principles of the camera. It will also provide application examples with conceptual similarity to photothermal spectroscopy and microscopy. The goal is to introduce the use of heliCam in photothermal spectroscopy and microscopy, enabling novel and more efficient experimental work in this domain.
