Regular teaching (lectures, seminars, practical courses) in Cognitive Psychology, Biological Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Statistics 4-8 h per week for B.Sc., M.Sc., Diploma students with Psychology as major or minor since 1987. Additional teaching in the International Max Planck Research School on Neuroscience of Communication: Function, Structure and Plasticity (IMPRS NeuroCom) since 2009, in the Research Training Group "Function of Attention in Cognition" (2005-2014)
Promotion of Young Scientists
Reviewer of more than 120 doctoral theses; Member of doctoral thesis boards more than 250 times; Mentor in Post-doc and Habilitation mentoring programs; Delegate for Young Researchers of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs); Main supervisor of 19 PhD students; Main mentor of five "Habilitanden" (all of them became professor-ships or senior lectureships in tenure positions); seven post-docs of my lab from Canada, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Spain moved to tenure or tenure-track positions in science when they left my lab. Several PPP-grants of the German Academic Exchange Program (Australia, Finland, Hungary, Spain) with a special focus of training young researchers (graduate and dotoral students; post-docs early in their career).
