Online catalogue (OPAC) of the university library Leipzig (UBL)

The book and magazine contents of the former specialized library of the dance archive leipzig as well as a multitude of movies can be found in the online catalogue (OPAC) of the university library Leipzig (UBL). A part of the dance specific literature can also be found on the 2nd floor in the open-access section “theatre,dance, film”. Further dance related material can be ordered and partially borrowed in the reading rooms.

Archive database Kalliope

The contents of the archive (especially manuscripts and other historical documents) can be researched via the database Kalliope. After putting in an order and making an appointment via email you can access those holdings at the Albertina. 

Please put in your requests at least two days in advance via email: sondersammlungen@ub.uni-leipzig.de. The documents will be available for 10 days in the research reading room of the special collections. 

We are continuously establishing the digital catalogue. If you can´t find individual objects please use the email address of the specialist collections of the UBL.  

www.performing-arts.eu – Specialist information service performing arts

For a cross-archival search you can also use the FID portal www.performing-arts.eu. Here a large part of the collections within the network of german dance archives (VDT) (Deutsches Tanzarchiv Köln; Akademie der Künste, Berlin; Tanzarchiv Leipzig; Mediathek für Tanz und Theater am ITI, Berlin; Deutsches Tanzfilminstitut Bremen – not searchable yet) are made accessible.
