Much Ado About Nothing
William Shakespeare

This Renaissance comedy is a play about deceptions and the importance of honour packed into a colourful story of love, wit, and confusion. The soldiers Claudio and Benedick return from battle to Messina. Claudio and Hero are in love with each other and plan to marry. Meanwhile, Benedick, an opponent of marriage, is at a “merry war” of wit with Beatrice pointing to a developing love between them as well. All seems to be going well were there not the ill-willed Don John who simulates Hero’s infidelity causing a great stir…

The play is in the public domain and versions for beginners are available as well.
