The project "Neue Aspekte der Luftbelastung durch die Wechselwirkung von Stadtklima und Innenraumluft" (New Aspects of air-Contamination by inTeractions of Urban and indooR Air - ACTURA) underlines the fact that indoor air components and outdoor air pollutants can react and form new reactants. The chemical reactions between terpenes and ozone as well as terpenes and nitrogen oxides were presented in other studies. But the importance of them for indoor air quality was never superficial. Explaining the occurence of formaldehyd without any indoor-source by the reaction pathways of these precursors is an aim of the study. Knowing that the reactions are humidity and temperature dependet, the study will consider different housings (differ in location, behaviour of ventilation, kind of furniture) under diverse meteorological influences (outdoor temperature and humidity, wind velocity, air pollution episodes).
