    Global structure of gravity waves in the middle atmosphere and ionosphere, their nonlinear coupling, parameterization and impact on atmospheric circulation

    Ground-based and GPS satellite measurements are used to derive global fields and variability of gravity waves. The influence of gravity waves on the mean flow in the stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere is
