Partnership

The project brings together 6 partners from 5 European countries, all of them extensively involved in mesosphere/lower thermosphere (MLT) dynamics science, and 5 of them carying out MLT measurements:

• Radiophysics Department, Kazan State University, Russia
• Problem Scientific Research Laboratory, Kharkov State Technical University, Ukraine
• Department of Physics, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK
• Laboratoire de Météorologie, Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France

The project brings together mesopause region wind measurements from 3 meteor radars and a LF D1 windprofiler. The measuring sites are:

• Collm, Germany (LF D1), 51°N, 15°E
• Obninsk, Russia (meteor radar) 55°N, 37°E
• Kazan, Russia (meteor radar) 56°N, 59°E
• Kharkov, Ukraine (meteor radar) 50°N, 30°E

Additional data from the Shrivenham, UK, meteor radar (52.5°N, 2°W) are contributed by the Department of Physics of the University of Wales.
