Measuring campaigns

During the project, three co-ordinated measuring campaigns of mesosphere/lower thermosphere wind measurements (80- 100 km) have been carried out. For investigation of planetary waves in the mesosphere/lower thermosphere measurements in summer and/or winter are suitable, when the mean dynamics is more stable than during the equinoxes. The measurements were carried out in

• Summer 1998
• Winter 1998/1999
• Summer 1999

Three radars (Obninsk, Collm, Shrivenham) are operated on a quasi-continuous base, and these data are available for the entire period of the project.
