We discussed dependency grammar, and saw how standard minimalism could be viewed in these terms.
The basic idea is that the merger of phrases A and B results in a dependency between the head of A and the head of B. If the resulting phrase [A B] is labeled, the dependency is directed, from the head to the dependent.
