The system we introduced in the previous lecture provides a particular notation for cooper storage. Cooper storage was invented by Robin Cooper (and presented in his 1983 book) as an alternative way of interpreting sentences with quantificational elements.
The standard semantics for minimalism is the Heim and Kratzer semantics [H&K] (with variants assuming the copy theory of movement and other particularly minimalist innovations).
The λ calculus is a language for reasoning about functions.
