Lucia Mendez

Research project:
My research Project focuses on the characterization of oxidized lipid-protein adducts in adipose tissue of insulin resistant and insulin sensitive obese patients. Different techniques for enrichment of low abundant modified proteins and peptides followed by LC-MS/MS analysis will be used. This will allow us to understand lipid toxicity associated mechanisms of disease and identify potential biomarkers as well as possible targets for efficient preventive and therapeutic strategies.
