About me

I am a third year linguistics PhD student of the DFG-funded graduate programme igra at the Unileipzig.

I am primarily interested in syntax, and how it relates to and interacts with  morphology and phonology.
My overall research goal is directed at understanding the intricacies of Universal Grammar, with emphasis on Kwa (Niger-Congo) languages, particularly Ga and Akan (both spoken in Ghana).

Topics of my recent interest:

  • Pronominalisation in Kwa
  • The syntax of negation and  negative polarity items (especially in Ga)
  • Anaphora and resumption (especially in Akan)
  • The syntax of inherent complement verbs in  Kwa.
