Summary
The research in my group focuses on the physics and properties of clouds and their role in the Earth's climate system. A major part of this is in assessing changes in clouds and rain caused by particulates (known as aerosols), particularly from shipping and aviation.
We use a variety of tools to study cloud and aerosol processes, including: state of the art global and regional climate models, satellite and ground-based observations, and fusion with new data networks and sources.
All about clouds! If you are interested in learning more about clouds, have a look at www.cloudsandclimate.com
Potential PhD students: We are looking for PhD students to join our group in looking at clouds, climate and how they change in response to human activity. Positions starting in October 2023 are focused on developing new observation systems and techniques, but if there is another aspect you want to look at, please get in touch!
There are general details here (PhD opportunities) and more details in the project description. For informal enquires, please email me.
