General terms and conditions for MMN 2015
The ticketing and payment service for the MMN 2015 will be provided by Converia in the name and on behalf of the event organizer. Below you find the Terms & Conditions for the use of Converia Software and Service by attendees.
By completing the online registration for the "Error Signals from the Brain - 7th Mismatch Negativity Conference (MMN 2015)", which will be held at the University of Leipzig, Germany, from 8-11 September 2015 (hereafter referred to as the MMN 2015), you are accepting our General Terms and Conditions.

Registration conditions
The Conference Organizer has settled on a registration fee for participants to encourage attendance during the entire conference and to provide the conference financing. The registration fee will be charged regardless of the length of time a participant attends the conference. The registration fee includes access to all symposia, keynotes, and poster sessions, badge, welcome reception, and soft drinks and snacks during coffee and lunch breaks.
To be able to register as a student (incl. PhD student), you must present proof of enrolment at a recognized university or college for the time of the MMN 2015.
Registrants will be able to select:
- the early registration fee of EUR 150.00 for students, and
- the early registration fee of EUR 250.00 for standard participants
up until 31 March 2015, 24.00 CET.
For registrations after 31 March 2015, 24.00 CET:
- the normal registration fee of EUR 200.00 for students, and
- the normal registration fee of EUR 300.00 for standard participants
will apply.
Methods of Payment
Payment is required at the time of registration. Payments are only accepted in EUR and can be made using one of the following methods:
Credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express): Attendees should complete the relevant section of the registration form. Credit cards will be charged in EUR. Your credit card company will convert this cost to the currency of your credit card.
Bank transfer: Registration fees can be paid by bank transfer to the account stated below. Note that additional costs of an international bank transfer (both charged by your bank and the German bank) must be covered by you. Please make a separate transfer for every participant (no joint transfers).

For payment of your registration fee at the reception, cash is preferred.
Extra Services
Attendance of the farewell party is not included in the registration fee. Should you wish to join the farewell party, you may purchase a ticket (including legal VAT):
- for EUR 30.00 for students, and
- for EUR 40.00 for standard participants.
Additionally, a printed abstract book of the MMN 2015 can be ordered at the cost of EUR 6.00 to be received at the beginning of the conference.
Cancellation Conditions
Registration cancellation: Cancellations received in writing by fax or email to the MMN 2015 Conference Organizer by 30 June 2015, 24.00 CET will be accepted and all fees refunded less an administrative fee of EUR 25.00. For cancellations received after 30 June 2015, 24.00 CET but before 15 August 2015, 24.00 CET, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. Cancellations made after 15 August 2015, 24.00 CET, as well as 'no shows', are liable for the full registration fee.
Transfer of registration: An existing MMN 2015 registration is transferable to another person. The full name and details of the person that will replace you must be advised in writing by fax or email to the MMN 2015 Conference Organizer prior to the Conference. If applicable, a proof for the retention of a reduced fee must be submitted.
Consumer's right of revocation
Attendees who purchase the ticket as a consumer according to § 13 of the German Civil Code have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without stating any reason. The cancellation deadline is 14 days from the day the contract is concluded.
To exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform the MMN 2015 Conference Office of your decision to cancel the contract. The timely dispatch of the notice of your intention to exercise your right of cancellation shall be deemed sufficient for compliance with the cancellation deadline.
Consequences of cancellation: If you cancel this contract, we are obliged to return all payments we have received from you immediately or, at the latest, within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice. For this repayment, we will use the same method of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed to a different method of payment. Under no circumstances will you be required to pay any fees for this repayment.
Liability
The liability of the Conference Organizer for damages or loss suffered by attendees of the MMN 2015 Conference shall be excluded. This exclusion does not apply to damages or losses attributable to intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty. In case of breach of essential contractual obligations, the Conference Organizer will be liable for every degree of negligence, the liability shall however be limited to the amount of predictable damages. These limitations of liability do not apply in cases of fraudulent intent and for injuries of life, body or health. Where the Conference Organizer's liability is limited or excluded, that limitation or exclusion shall also apply to any officer, appointee, employee or other agent of the University of Leipzig.
Cancellation of the conference
In the event that the MMN 2015 cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the Conference Organizer (force majeure), registration fees will be refunded. Further recourse (e.g. refund of costs arising from the necessity to alter or cancel accommodation, travel, tours and other arrangements) is excluded.
Data security
The personal information provided by the participants will be held on a database. Credit card information will NOT be stored in this database. The email addresses will be used to circulate information regarding the MMN 2015, and announcement of future MMN conferences and might be handed on to the organizer of the next MMN conference. The data of the participants will not be given to a third party not related to the MMN conference. Participants who do not wish their email addresses to be used in the above described manner can ask the Conference Organizer anytime to delete their personal information from the conference database.
During the MMN 2015 photographs or videos may be taken for documentary purposes. We reserve the right to publish photographs or videos after the MMN 2015 on the conference website (https://home.uni-leipzig.de/biocog/mmn2015/index1701.html) or use them for press releases. By agreeing to these General Terms and Conditions, the participant gives consent to the publication of photographs or videos of his or her own person. An attendee can revoke the consent to use of his or her photographs or videos at any time in writing to the Conference Organizer.
Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
All contractual and legal relationships are subject to the application of the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, and in the event of any legal claims arising from either party, Leipzig, Germany shall be the court of jurisdiction.
